Does anyone have any good recommendation for pedals which fold by kicking (i.e. with the foot) rather than by using the hand. Although I love my Giant Halfway dearly, having to use one's hand to fold a dirty pedal seems a dumb design.

Maybe this idea might help you. I too have a folder with pedals that must use a hand to grasp it to fold it in. I use a single plastic baggie, a paper napkin, or plastic disposible gloves. I always have one or more of the above of in my bag to handle all the possible folding of the pedal(s) or performing some emergency repair out on the road. I noticed where I live, there is no restrooms to wash up afterwards!
