Tern Node D8 review - is it worth the upgrade?
I've currently got a battered old Carerra Intercity with 20" wheels, and it does the job but the route I commute to work is pretty bumpy due to cobbles and roots bursting through the tarmac.
I'd seen some mention that a 24" folding bike feels much more like a normal bike and is a lot more stable and comfortable than a 20" equivalent. The downside is size but I don't need to take it on a bus/train and it'll fit in my car fine.
The only 24" folding bike I can find in the UK is the Tern Node D8, which is pretty expensive (£1100!) https://www.ternbicycles.com/uk/bikes/473/node-d8
Both bikes are Shimano 8 speed (Claris/Altera) twist shifter, so no difference there. The big improvements for the Node are better brakes, quick release instead of nuts, and the bigger wheels.
So does anyone have any:
1. Experience of the Node?
2. Comparison between a 20" and 24" bike?
3. Any other recommendations for 24" folders that aren't quite so expensive?

The other 24” folder that’s reasonably easy to find in the UK is an Airnimal, but they’re more than the Tern Node new and I can’t see any bargains on UK eBay. There is however a Tern Joe with 26” wheels in what looks like a decent condition going on eBay for a sensible price in comparison in Hull, and there’s also a medium sized Change Bike with 700c wheels in London that’s an absolute bargain right now.

I hadn't even heard of the Joe, that looks pretty promising. I assume 26" wheels will be even better since it's a more common adult size, and it having different frame sizes presumably means I'll feel less like I'm balancing on top of it (I'm 5'11.5" so getting to the upper limit of a one size bike).
Do you have a link to the Change Bike? The search is just showing me loads of components. I'm up in Glasgow so it's probably no use to me but worth looking at all the same.
Edit: Found it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356025820978
