Aniwow quad-fold

Pre-Kickstarter? Can't find any spec's. Looks like 305 wheels & kinda a short wheelbase. 305 + derailleur will probably yield lower gearing. Quad-folds with drivetrain exposed.

Now you know as much as I do.

The half fold with a basket is kinda neat.
I reached out to them via Instagram to see if they can share a little more about themselves and their experience with bikes and folding bikes.

I think I'd be leery about the whole Kickstarter thing. Did that Ti trifold 20" ever make it?

Delivered = Yes, No, Partial,N/A... Partial means that there were complaints of non-delivery. N/A means that it's too soon to tell.
Viable = Yes, No, N/A... Viable in the sense that this product or a successor is available for sale. N/A means that it's too soon to tell.

Helix was the one I was thinking of. But I thought they were trying to price them below $2k?

The main reason why they only partially fulfilled is that they couldn't actually deliver with that price. So they have asked their backers to pay more in order to get their bikes. (someone correct me if I got that part wrong)
At least the bike, itself, is not vaporware. It exists and the people that own them seem to like them quite a bit.

Now that I've reviewed all those kickstarter projects... here's my list of what is most interesting.
- Hummingbird. Cool looking bike, but not the smallest fold. Lightweight at 6.9kg
- Dahon, Tern, and Bike Friday all had Kickstarter campaigns in the list. The Dahon Curl is the only one that is not really available to buy.
- SU18 has a very neat fold. Unfortunately impacted by the war in Ukraine, but they are still communicating with backers so that's positive.
- VELLO successfully delivered their first kickstarter campaign with $30K. And were rewarded with over $500K in the second campaign.
- FLIT-16 is a nice looking bike. Like the Hummingbird, it's not a small fold, but looks like a quality build.
- Pop-Cycle claims to be the first with this design concept of a sliding mechanism. They're not.

Yes, it's out there. Heck, I own a Dahon Curl myself. What I mean is that it's not easy to find for sale.
The Dahon website doesn't even list it anymore. Here and there you'll see an article or blog about it. But generally speaking, not for sale anymore. Happy to be proven wrong on this.

The Dahon I4 and Dahon EI4 were available in Europe. Some online store have some pieces still in stock (mostly of the more expensive EI4).
Previous Curl I7 and I8 were also available in Europe. But also from a small amount of specialized bike shop and online stores.
The Curl D9 was never available, it only appeared as model year 2024 on the Dahon website.

Extra hinge + ISO305mm wheels + short wheelbase.
Hey, give us dimensions, Aniwow! Sheesh. Until such time, it looks like it doesn't nearly fill up this Ikea Dimpa:

the way some other well-known folding bike does:

The geometry is now published: it has a short wheelbase (960mm vs. 1040 for the Brompton) and short saddle to handlebar distance (only 590mm vs. 670 to 715mm for the Brompton). Wheels are also smaller = ETRTO305 vs. ETRTO349.

The folded size comparison with the Brompton is unfair: they didn't put the Brompton official folded size (585x565x270mm) but a bigger one.

I mention the Brompton geometry but its the same for the Birdy which has also a longer wheelbase, a much longer saddle to handlebar distance and bigger wheels.
Anywow will be quite small for an average European or US male cyclist . Their claim that Anywow has "same comfort like big bikes" is not true, for the average male European or US cyclist Anywow will have an "awkward riding posture, compromised comfort" like they wrote for other folding bikes.

Its a pity that for marketing reasons, i.e. to have a smaller folded size, they compromised the riding geometry and riding posture.
Its possible to make a slightly bigger frame with the same folding concept that would provide a good riding geometry and a good riding posture and wouldn't be much bigger folded.
