If you think there’s a limited range of KlickFix bags and luggage, clearly you haven’t found the Rixen and Kaul range yet
They also make the plate you’re looking for - it comes with a backing plate that you bolt to, sandwiching the bag in place. Alternatively you can bolt it directly to the bag or box or basket that you plan to use. I’ve used them on a couple of conversions of camera bags and I’m sure I’ve got one spare kicking around somewhere. It’s been updated a bit since I last bought one, but looks like it does the same thing.

I started out trying a Rixen & Kaul backpack with a KlickFIX for the front. I think it was designed for their handlebar mount, because when I mounted it on the head tube KlickFIX mount, it was high enough to obstruct the headlight on my Vektron, unless I had the bar most of the way towards its highest position.

The filter on their website means that you can select handlebar mounted bags, which are the ones that work on head tube mounts.

One point was that the Brompton-type luggage block puts the load closer to the head tube, so it imparts less leverage to the mount itself for a given load weight.
I'm on the fence as to whether that's an advantage, as the Tern Luggage Truss is built very strong. (and heavy) I haven't tried it, as the Tern one works so well. It's a question of whether the brazing on the mount holds up under a heavier load.

Regarding the cable clearance, I see a lot of folders that have all the cables spiral-wrapped together, which makes the bundle protrude forward. I prefer to keep right and left cables separate, which allows the cables to lay more flat across the front (with flat-bar levers), right cables crossing to left side of frame tube, left cables cross to right side of frame tube, so clear in front of head tube, and clearance to a bag is not a problem, even with a closer Brompton-style bag mount.

Due to the cantilever effect, I think that the 10kg, = 3kg heavier load, allowed in a Brompton type bag mounted on a Brompton type block directly attached to the brazing of the head tube like the blocks sold on Aliexpress won't generate higher constraints on the brazing-threads (especially the one of the top bolt) than the 7kg allowed in a Klickfix bag mounted on the long Tern Luggage Truss.
Moreover, this 7kg weight limit, that exists for all Klickfix front bags not only the one of the Tern Luggage Truss, is most probably due to the Klickfix system and not to the brazing.

the red mount extends the pig nose adapter thingy below up and away from the cabling:

So yeah, now it looks like I am in the market for a Brompton-block compatible rucksack. 10 litres should do it. Alternatively I may get a front mount rack and use one of the thousand rucksacks we have kicking around the house that the kids have accumulated over the years.
I will post a photo of it mounted on the front of the Tern later. I am impressed by the perceived quality of the AliExpress kit.

Oh, and I was away working with the Tern this last week, here it is in full professional mode, two panniers, and an Eastpak rucksack/garment carrier thing.
I have a piano and a bunch of flowers in there too, because opera.

Fits nicely in the gap between the carriage door and the end seat row.

All bolts secured with thread locker.
I would have preferred some recommended torque settings but none were provided.

I prefer the block mounted directly against the head tube without the adapter that adds a long lever! This system has the same problem of than the Tern Luggage Truss.
On the Tern Vektron S10, no problems with the cables.
