DTFS & suitcases

Has anyone tried to fit a DTFS in a "standard" (62" L+W+H) suitcase? How much dissasembly is required?

IME typically 65" total is needed ... which I have not heard of being a problem at checkin. The preferred tool is the Samsonite F'lite 31". You have to detach the DT FS shock and rotate the swing arm under the seatpost, slip the "stem" out of the handlepost, and loosen the stem bolt. Wheels off, of course. A SRAM or Wipperman chain with master link helps to keep things clean.

I put my Downtube FS fits in a Dahon Airporter suitcase with no issues....however the case is oversized.

Thanks,
Yan
