$500 is a good deal on a Birdy. I havent seen it in person but thought it would be a good deal for someone that has been looking for one.

For sure. I'd stick an Alfine 11 speed hub on it or even a Rolhoff if I had the money.

Someone has put what looks like an early Dahon stainless in great shape on the bay. It even has a mini tire pump on the tiny downtube.

BARGAIN ALERT in the Los Angeles area

EDIT: I read the ad and now see that they think there is a problem with the stem. I have never heard of this problem before. It may or may not be a simple fix. But it may be worth contacting the seller. You can always use the problem as a bargaining point.
