Which Folding Bike would you recommend?

Hello everyone... I just joined the forum and this is my first post ever on this board.

I'm planning to ride a bike to go to work everyday and the distance is probably between 4-5 km.
There is neither big uphill or downhill.

And I got an offer from one ebay seller that "Dahon made 2007 YEAH 20" 6 SP ALUMINUM FOLDING BIKE" that has NO suspension at US $260. Is this reasonable? Would this bike be a good fit for me?

https://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-DAHON-MADE-YE...QQcmdZViewItem

Does anyone know whether YEAH bike has a similar quality as Dahon?
What brand/model would you recommend?
Is suspension bike that much better?

I know absolutely nothing about bike and also I'm not quite familiar with parts of a bike.

Thank you~

Bikes: Downtube IXNS

For that price, it is probably better to shoot for a DT FS. It seems Yan has taken out IXNS from ebay but FS is lining up now. Suspension is highly recommended if your commute route isn't smooth. I got a DT IXNS and just realized that a part of my commute route is quite bumpy. Wish I got a FS. For 4-5km, I don't think you will carry the bike a lot, e.g. up and down on bus or train. So, I would say a suspension bike is much better.

As of YEAH, I asked the seller, too. It doesn't have telescopic handlepost like 2007 Dahon does. Besides, the pictures on the page aren't consistent. IMHO, that tells the quality of the seller.

he has two different bikes pictured ... both are made by Dahon under the YEah brand
the darl blu one is MUCH nicer than the light blue one....
he is asking 330 plus dollars plus 39 dlr shipping ... you could get a much nicer 07 D7 for that or maybe you check for an 06 Speed P 8 which would be a much superior bike

Are IXFS and FS same thing?

IXFS is supposed to be the lastest. I am not aware of any older model on the market. I think IX is just the ID for the model generation. FS mean full suspension. Check DT page for details.

Actually IX (roman numeral) implies it is a 9sp bike. VIII is an 8sp model. We do not have any leftover 2006 bikes.

Thanks,
Yan
