After having spent days going over threads about bags for commuting with my Swift I had settled on anything by Carradice. Then I came across the Rixen & Kaul line. Wow. I was impressed with their modern looking bags (especially handlebar and seatpost bags). I know that Carradice uses the Rixen & Kaul attachments on some of their bags. I'm now more confused about my choices. I was wondering how people compare the two lines. I'm interested in being able to fold the Swift (doesn't fit in the elevator with me otherwise) and carrying items to the office and around town (no laptops or such large items but lunch bowl and maybe a shirt or two). i sell a few items, not all by any means , but what I have here is first class... not cheap either ,,,

I was rather tempted by the Rixen & Kaul Freepack series of backpacks, but couldn't find any non-German shops carrying them. I should know enough German to order it direct, but I wussed out

Now I have a front rack & panniers - they work really well (not just on the Swift but all my other bikes too!) but are of course not quite as easy to tote around off the bike as a backpack.
