I have a 2009 Dahon Cadenza Solo which I converted to a fixed gear. It ticked all my boxes: 1) affordable, 2) folding, 3) big wheels, 4) looks nice, 5) decent components.

I recently built up a new fixed gear and plan to use the Dahon for a single-speed tourer now, since it comes with every mounting hole you could possibly want! All in all, loved it as a fixed.

Bikes: SmallWheelOnly

from experience my

R20 with 451 wheels works great the larger wheel diameter adds crank/pedal clearance compared to 406 w/c is more likely to hit ground ridden fixed

I flip flop to Single speed for now ...haven't got used to Fixed riding style yet

stripped and upgraded this one is down to 10.5kg or 21 or so lbs. or less if i remove rear barkes/shfters/metal clamps/etc.

It was a 36lb. monster when i got it.

Check out the Montague Boston. It's a folder that ships with a flip flop hub - ready to ride fixed:
