Folding a curve - handle bar clamp scratches paint?

I've just received my Dahon curve. It looks very well made and they have applied rubber pads in places to stop the frame from being scratched when folded.

However, I am finding that the clamp on the handlebars would push right into the frame paintwork when folded and there is nothing to stop this. Am I doing something wrong as everywhere else, Dahon have ensured that this will not happen.

Bikes: None.

My D7 suffered fold-itis skin rashes. Square Velcro sticky patches in sensitive places worked well. My other bike suffers when I hang the bars on the top tube for storage. Duct Tape (available in a variety of colors) was the answer.

Scratches on folders are inevitable, alas, but of course, you may just be folding it slightly awkwardly.

Why not post a pic of the fold so that The Bearded Ones may pronounce upon any possible folly?

Its the clamp that allows for height adjustment that is the problem and when folded, clashes with the back of the frame.

I'll try and post a picture.
