There's plenty of bike mechanics in Phnom Penh, if you go there; on every sidewalk, If you do arrive in PP, have a drink in the Foreign Correspondent's Club for me.

Snafu, as I recall this is the same referenced in the book "The Killing Fields"? Either way I will try and get there and take a photo with me drinking a beverage. My trip has started off well, the pigeon is holding up thus far did 140 km from BKK to Pattaya beach, rode from 9am to 8pm but speed has never been my strong suit. People here in Pattaya love the pigeon and I don't think it's because of "proletarian chic".

Ya, FCC has been there a long time. Hangout of the press corps when the AK bullets were kicking up the river as the Vietnamese troops chased out the KR. The Mekong was red with blood. I last worked in Cambodia in 2003, changes were afoot then, and I probably wouldn't recognise the place now. There's even a Sofitel in PP, they say. Cripes!
The Flying Pigeon is the bike to have. May you both travel safely.

I realize this is an old thread, but thank you for starting it. I just bought a Flying Pigeon folding bike, partially due to the comments and responses here. I'll post photos when I'm allowed. I have to make 10 posts before I can attach them.
