Abio Chainless Folding Bikes in Toronto

Hello All,

I'm a rep with Abio Bikes and will be in the Toronto area next week. If anyone is interested in checking out the bikes hit me a line and I'd be more than happy to demo the bike for you.

It would be good to hear who are some of your fav folding bike retailers in the Tdot as well.

Thank you in advance

Mike

ChainlessRev, can you please pass on the word that the bikes need a better IG hub, like the Alfine or Imotion9? Also more color options. thanks

I like that folder for some reason. I don't think it's going to inexpensive although!

Bikes: Abio Penza & Abio Verdion - lots of them

Hello,

Toronto was a blast! Riding on the street cars and the subway with my Abio Penza was a breeze. Shouts out to all the cool bike dealers in Toronto.

Next stop Seattle! Let me know if you would like a demo, I'll be there March 15-16. I would be glad to meet up.

Regards,
Mike

ok first thing first, I'm sorry for ressurecting an old dead thread but I'm wondering if anyone has owned either one of these abio bikes in the last year and what do they think of them in reliability. Cause now in Canada a few places are selling them for for mid $500's CDN. So to me that's a pretty good deal there for a 2nd bike for the wife to ride around in (that's the excuse i'm going with!). But I haven't heard anything about them even though they've been here for at least a year.

So has anyone have any long term reports on this? how would this compare to the dahons that are around this price range? I've never seen anyone even mention this, the main thing i'm afraid of is replacement parts for their proprietary shaft (belt drive would probably be easier cause it's a gates belt). And with the heavily lowered prices (from 790 USD) i'm not sure what's the state of the company for future support or are you on your own.

Abio Bikes

Hello Azreal,

Yes it is true that we are a relatively new company but we are committed to providing great customer service. We are continually adding to our dealer list so we are growing steadily.

There have not been any issues with the shaft drive from those that have purchase our Penza. In the case that there are issues we do stock them with our manufactures so they are accessible.

Please don't hesitate to respond should you have any other comments or concerns.

Regards,

Mike

I'd love to see a review of these bikes too. Mike, have you got in touch with the magazines that publish on them ? Would you be prepared to let one of the regulars on this board from or near New York to have a test ride and report on your bikes here ?

yeah we've seen alot of adverts for this bike but I haven't found any real world experiences so far on this forum. Someone close by to their store in NY should go for a long test ride

Hello,

Thank you to those who have posted our reviews. We were discussing at Abio, the idea of letting some of the senior board regulars in this forum to review our bikes and we are open to the idea. We will make a call out for those that are near NYC shortly.

As a side note myself and a colleague will be making the rounds at Interbike this week. We don't have a booth but we'll have our bikes with us in and around the show. Stop us and say hello if you have a moment.

Regards,

Mike

Bikes: Schwinn collegiate, wanting a Bridgestone or Cannondale

Will you guys produce bikes in more colors? I like the Cardon chainstay drive shaft. Might get one later this year.
