York (UK)Bike Show, more folders next year?
(Sorry accidentally deleted the introduction thread)
York Bike show was enjoyed by many. It featured a few stands, some crazy bike contraptions, and "The Clan " stunt team, featuring Danny Macastell of Utube fame.
Click the link if you have not seen it, as its fantastic.

I had my first go on an Abike and a recumberant. There was a few folder there, but mainly a few demo Bromptons. I took my Modifed 27 speed Mezzo which got alot of interest.
Would more folders like to meet up their next year. I might be on my trails bike however!

Found a clip of some of the highlights from the "Clan" show.

One not covered here is an event that not many people witnessed. I wish this was on film. Danny Mcaskell does a funny trick of jumping over the bunneybar and letting his bike go under, then landing back on the pedals. The "have a go hero" BMX rider in the white helmet is called "Nash", who had a go! His jump over the bar was fine, however he landed well behind the bike on all fours. THe display had finished and most septators had moved away. Now usually an unriden bike quickely falls over, but not this one. Nash looked up saw his bike plowing directely towards some women with young children about 20 yards away, they where not looking at the oncoming bike. THe bike was determined not to fall over, and Nash looked unlikely to get there in time, and alerting them to the danger would properly result in them turning around just as the bike hit. Nash has the words "lawsuite" in his head, as he desperately runs after the bike.
Fortunately the blissfully unaware "victums to be" happened to turn around, and took one step calmly to the side. Nash had dived spectacularly to grab the bike by one hand on the rear wheel rim at full lenght strech, and then whilst still prone holding on to his bike, in a very claim manner uttered ,"sorry about that!"
I know I have not done the incident justice ,as I laughed so hard at the time.

I did not manage to get there untill late Sunday afternoon, on my gold Mezzo as I had friends around for the weekend. Did not see many folders, only one I remember was a halfway. Anyone meet up. There was not even any folder dealers or LBS this time when I was there.
