Birdy love again..... at last!
After much trouble-shooting, cable ties, foam, electrical tape (what a weekend I hear you say
) I have finally got to the bottom of the loud metallic clanking that was plaguing my Birdy. It really did sound like the proverbial boneshaker and it was so irritating that I stopped riding it fell out of love with it. And I was regretting the upgrade investment from the standard fit.
The wheel went back to SRAM as they thought it might be their Dual drive hub. Repacked and re-greased it is now, finally, silent.
So the commute this morning was fast, clank-free and as enjoyable as it was the first ride.

You might be disappointed as it's a workhorse rather than concourse model. Throw in UK winter weather...
Photo attached of it on it's holidays before the upgrade. I really should take some photos of it with the new bits. Weather depending, will try to do it tomorrow.
