YAY!!! I purchased a Dahon Mariner D7!!
Hello!
Just rode home on my new bike....took the scenic route along the Hudson River! Wow! I feel like I have total freedom in moving about and experiencing this city!
I sincerely thank everyone for responding to my questions in search of just the right bike for me! The Dahon Ciao was truly a beautiful bike but I think it is more of a luxury and the Mariner is enough bike and still makes fully feel prepared to enjoy this sport!
After visiting other LBS, I bought it at: https://www.modsquadcycles.com/modsqu...-_Rentals.html
The owner and staff, Oye, Jay and Troy were very helpful...it is now my bike home!
I was born to ride!!!
Loren!!

Congrats. Welcome to the madhouse. Don't forget the pix :-)
If you write down the frame number ( turn the bike upside down, it's underneath the frame by the large chainwheel) then enter it on the Dahon site, you'll upgrade your frame to 'lifetime warranty'.
https://dahon.com/support/warranty-information
....and the easiest way to flip a Dahon over is lengthwise - hold on the rear brake, and rotate the unfolded bike's front wheel over the rear, and rest bike on the handlbars and seat. Mind the rear fender!

Congrats on your new folder, Loren.
All of us here know and share the joy you feel with your new ride, since we're Folderistas too. Folders open new avenues of discovery. Manhattan is indeed a great place for a folder - a traffic-beater that can go anywhere with you without (as much) concern of theft.
Hope you have many many happy miles of riding your new folder! Now, the true test will be to see if you can limit your ownership of folders to just one
