Indeed. I haven't been properly chastised for ordering another single-speed bike.

Oh where, oh where has our Snafu gone?
Oh where, oh where can she be-eee?

If she goes away, with all her wit and charm,
All we'd be left with is Mulleady-ee

Snafu,

As someone who checks in frequently but posts seldomly, I would like to say that I always read your posts. I appreciate your sense of humor and your sense of the absurd. This forum definitely loses some of its spark when you go away.

Sometimes people just need to take time off to reflect on things going on in their lives. Reading through some of her recent post, it looks like all the little things that she usually brushes off got under the skin a bit. I just hope that everything turns out fine in the end.

Dont know if anyone noticed but her comments referring to gays when replying to puppypilgrim was partially deleted by mods ( the gay part) along with the same offending remark in the "reply with quote" by vic and mulleady. She may be laying low for a bit. Just sayin.

Hope she will be back soon,i enjoy most of her humor.

Snafu made an anti-gay remark? How worrisome. She never struck me as a close-minded sort...

Not close-minded at all, you are right Urbanis!

We all have our moments and if we do, will get chided for it with the best intentions. I'm sorry but while it wasn't Snafu's finest moment, please do not misconstrue her comment on that thread as homophobic. That's getting too PC and looking for intent where there was none. Neither should anyone surmise about her life.

You couldn't meet a nicer person on or offline. I don't want to embarrass her on this thread but she is a knowledgeable person about folding bikes and there are times her wit had me in tears. I've rarely seen someone sharper with the written word.

So suffice to say: Snafu get your posterior back here before this turns into an online obituary lol!

Snafu21 is very much a woman and you can Google the other word. I don't want to harp on too much about it.

Bloody raining in London again bet you have pure sun today!

NOPE!! After 10 years of very dry and warm winters, this one has been wet wet wet and cold. I've seen creek beds running that were always bone dry, it's amazing.
As for today, I rode about 50 kms of a 70km ride in very windy, very wet, very, very cold conditions on a hilly course. I was like a drowned rat, stopped to relieve myself and I couldn't find my dxxdle... it was THAT cold!! Took 15 mins in a hot shower to become something resembling a human again. Legs, arms, torso were red and purple. SO, no sunny weather here either.

I thought it meant "Fear of homes"

It has been raining in New York since Sunday. Although I miss having time on my Swift, we have been starved for water, I am grateful for cool weather in August, and my muscles are still recuperating from running a race and then riding all over the city last Saturday.

I was forced to do a lot of riding in the rain last year and decided after doing a century in such conditions I would happily use the subway on such days. :-)

There is being funny and being a jerk...they are separated by a wide margin. In particular I have zero sympathy when the rationale for getting bent out of shape is someone putting different drivetrain components on their bike then you'd like.

I should add that people can and do make mistakes. At which point a retraction and sincere apology would be appropriate.

(Sorry, everyone! But the complete zig-zag of life through the world of Rock & roll causes me problems, now & again!)

As the only male lesbian in the village, I take exception to people picking holes in my warped perception of peoples complex sexualities!

And I am bi-Stridal BTW!

Ok..............

Hi, I'm Stevegor and I own 2x R20s and a Moulton Stowaway, my wife owns a very pretty Magenta R20,
I come here to talk about folding bikes, minivelos etc, life in general, the occasional friendly banter, tech info and calf flexing, but definitely under no circumstances do I want to hear about people's sexual orientation,
I don't care who you are, how "famous" you think you might be Bike Forums ...or not, keep it to yourself, please.

I don't want to know about, I'M NOT INTERESTED.

Let's talk about folding bikes
