The last Friday of 2010...

I needed a pre-NYE haircut so I rode my Bike Friday Tikit to a sytlist...super fun ride on empty streets/MUP....great way to end the biking year.

The ladies in the salon watched me fold my bike and roll it in..."...how is that possible?...that's a real bike?..." Yes!...

Ha ha, don't you love it when people are dazzled by our folders?

I usually ride my folder to get a haircut also. Have wowed the ladies there with the Strida, Tikit and Brompton. They probably think I'm a kook or something

Bikes: 2 - 2007 Custom Bike Fridays, 2 - 2009 Bike Friday Pocket 8's, Gravity 29'er SS, 2 - 8-spd Windsor City Bikes, 1973 Raleigh 20 & a 1964 Schwinn Tiger

I've ridden my S1 to the local Super Cuts for a haircut, then folded it up in a corner by the front window, just like vik did...and, YES, we are kooks...lol.

Figure I dazzle ladies at the salon more because at my age (68 this coming week) I still have hair that needs cutting!!!

We (me, wife, daughter, so-in-law and grandson) went riding along beach on day after Christmas on our folders (except grandson who was on wife's cruiser). Here's a pic of our folders taken by son-in-law. There's a Crusoe, 2-NWT's and a Pocket 8.

Since my last ride of 2010 was on my Bike Friday Tikit it seems fitting that my first ride of 2011 was on the same bike.

It was Sharon's first folder ride - which she enjoyed...well right up until I showed her how to fold her bike. She got it free so she can't complain too much, but I can tell it won't be too long before she rides a Tikit and her bike is our guest folder.

In a moment of appreciation for my old hyperfold Tikit I decided to get it freshly painted while I am down in Baja. The stock black paint was fine and the bike had no rust, but I figured I ride it so much and it has been such a great bike for me that it deserved a minty fresh new look.

I'm also getting new chain/cassette/ring and tires while it's at Bike Friday.

I can't wait to see it...

Oh ya! The black paint is in pretty nice condition...wouldn't be any point painting it black again - not to mention how boring that would be...
