Dahon Andros steering stem

Blwyddyn Newydd DDa (Happy New Year) May all your folds be snag-free and your tyres puncture-free!

I found this on a German folding bike site :- Dahon Andros steering stem

Looks like a very neat & useful idea.

Very interesting, kind of a Aber Hallo type handlebar adjustable accessory with light.

they will be available at one time.... I dont know exactly when, but I do have 20 on order with Dahon just for good measure. They will come as a stem only without the light .... the light will be available seperately as well at a later day.
I think at this time the production of stems is somewhat limited and 100% go onto production bikes ..but I am positive that eventually they will catch up .....
Its going to be more money than the Aber Hallo for sure.... but than its a little more involved with the clamping and such so it should be more ...

Thanks Thor

I don't even have a Dahon bike and I want one.

Well, I guess my Nova is somewhat a Dahon.

Smokin'.

Of course it will be interesting to see how robust it is and, in a perfect world, one would want to change the height of the stem post or increase/decrease the reach away from its somewhat limited semi-circle path. Still, I think it is very creative.

It looks good but it's but I imagine it's quite heavy. Incidentally it's been on sale on the dahonspares.co.uk website for some time.

It's made from hollow aluminium with reinforcing ribs, I imagine it's not heavy at all. My estimate would lie at 300g.

Anybody hear anything more on when this might be available stateside? I'd sure like to convert my Speed TR to this and start saving some fold time.

Bikes: Dahon Mu Sport & Mu Ex

it is available in Germany, here: https://www.derfaltradshop.de/DAHON-ANDROS-stem
Weight is given as 325g - far to heavy for my taste.
