The plasticy SR Suntour K337 Folding Pedals on my Dahon Mariner are starting to get rough and make noise. It doesn't look obviously serviceable and they are pretty chewed up besides. So I'm thinking I should look into replacements before they fail.

Ebay shows a wide variety of foldable pedals, both resin and metal, from brands I've heard of and those I haven't. To pick one at random is just a crapshoot.

I like how these K337 pedals fold (push them towards the crankarm, and then pivot it down), and wouldn't mind a replacement that folds similarly.

I only care for metal pedals tbh, had enough of plastic ones ****ed up.

I love my MKS AR 2 EZY, these pedals have a cool release system that I find it better then those who fold it.

ships one only on the left as part of the bike,
as that's the side you carry it by.

+1 on this. Great pedal, very durable and unlike FD-6, is good in wet conditions.

It's heavy though. It looks really nice but I think for a pair it's over 500 grams whereas, e.g., the wellgo Q/R type are 320g or thereabouts.

What's the difference between the FD-7 and the FD-6? On some shopping sites they look the same; on some the "grip" pattern is a little more wavy / rugged. On the www.mkspedal.com site the FD-6 isn't in their catalog anymore.

I'm on my second pair of Wellgo FP-7. It's alloy and has the folding mechanism the OP desires. The first one came with my Downtube 8H and lasted about a year including plenty of wet and slushy/salty/icy travel. The bearings basically disintegrated from the salt water I presume. The second one is at 1.5 years and has some bearing play so I expect to replace it in the fall.

Given the replacement cost ($18-20 or so on ebay) vs the 1 to 1.5 year life, it's not bad vs. spending $60 for the MKS.
