Dahon D7HG and Klickfix seatpost adapters

Hi,

Is anyone using Klickfix systems on their Dahon seatposts? I'm considering getting it together with Matchpack or other Klickfix-compatible backpack (and get rid of 500g rack) but I'm not sure about folding it then. What I see on pics is that the adapter is attached to the seatpost way lower the saddle meaning that I will not be able to push seatpost down while folded. Does anyone have an experience with this system?

I'm also interested in knowing more about the seatpost extender w/ Rixen & Kaul backpack....apparently the maximum recommended load is only 5 kg/11 pounds. That doesn't sound like much weight compared to what the backpack can carry. Will this thing break if I put 20 lbs on it?

I keep the Klickfix adapter up high on the seatpost. Works for me, but some might want to keep the bag and the weight lower down. If so, you can use the lever and bolt from a quick-release seatpost clamp to make the Klickfix collar(that goes around the seatpost) adjustable. This way the adapter could be easily raised and lowered on the seatpost any time you want to fold.

as the pic show..... it works well if its all the way up....
as for the max weight ...I dunno.... its some legaleze for sure, as I have excedded this almost every time i used it....
that doesnt mean YOU should do it ..of course...

I havent gotten any broken bits back either ... I think actually the weight is coming more from the bike manufacturer/seatpost manufacturer than from klickfix .... or rather it comes from klickfix but its dictated form other folks....

Again follow the max recomondations ...
what I do personally is my business and I live with the consequences...

Ah, a butt-covering disclaimer. It looks a lot stronger than 11 pounds, but I was concerned w/ such a low number...the frickin' empty backpack alone weights 2-3 lbs. I tried searching for complaints about failure, but haven't heard any whining thus far.

Thanks for the response!
