Brompton alternative mudguards?

Hi. Do you know any alternative mudguards for Brompton bikes. I really don't like the series one and I am riding mine in the rainy London every single day!

On Flickr I found these but they seems one-off:

Bikes: Brompton, Dahon Vitesse D5

Those mudguards looks far too thin to do anything.

I'd have though that it wouldn't be too hard to mount dahon-type mudguards. A mini pipe bender might be necessary to adapt a stay to attach to the front wheel axle.

Yes they are pretty thin. But the idea is not bad at all.

Are not the dahon a little bit to large as diameter?

that short one will just spray water up at you..

get over it, just use the L kit mudguards.

they are made by SKS for the Brompton Builds.

Planet Bike makes a 16" mudguard, just 1, sold as an Each.

Target market is Recumbents, so only a front. [common to have 2 sizes of wheels]

Bike Friday Tikit uses those, manufactures an arch to fit it back far enough on the rear, [arch is 12:00 on the wheel]
over the wheel, to spray, less..

Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG

SKS makes one that fits the Dahon 16" wheel, might work, but from what I gather they aren't what you are looking for.

I would be interested to know why you don't like them? Is there something inherently wrong with them?

If it is looks, then have a gander at these custom made fenders for Bromptons. https://www.ecovelo.info/2011/01/13/nisnas-cycles/
If it is they are not sturdy enough, have a look at this device https://www.milianparts.com/en/products/plablo/

Maybe you need longer flaps on the fenders. Brooks makes some beautiful but expensive ones.

What I don t like about them is the look. The "squared" section shape of them is IMHO not nice at all

Planet bike 16" is a rounded section.. polycarbonate-black.
[UK may have a different name brand , due to different importer]

You have to fabricate the struts and brackets then.
or modify the standard ones.. SJS has Brompton Hardware.

Perhaps someone offers hand made Carbon Fiber ones ..

I know some Hand made wooden ones
are coming out of garage sized home shops.
