Bikes: 2X dualdrive Mezzo folder, plus others

Starting to use this bike more now. I find it comfortable and the best fit of my folders.

Mod means longer to fold, but I can have a upright relaxed postion or a road race postion.

Problem is still the lack of gears, I also have 2 dualdrive mezzos, and the sensitivity of the 5 speed hub.

The 5 speed sometimes is not in gear proberly and slips when I pedal.
This is a shame as the bike "asks you to ride out of the saddle".
Therfore I do a lot of riding treating it like a single speed.

Therefore I have toyed with the idea of going for the lighter single speed.
Having removed the rear rack due to stressing when closing the dahon stem, the bike now is missing its rear rollers.
Having looked at the bike it has occurred to me tha only thing stopping the front wheel from being able to spin when folded is the ihg toggle chain bolt.
Can a single speed brommie be wheeled using thew front wheel rather than the rack??

Bhkyte, you are heading closer and closer to the dark side, step away from the lump of steel and go out on your Mezzo before its too late.

Have you changed the gear cables? I had issues like that with my 4 speed nexus, solved with new lined inner and outer cables, must have been cable drag.

RE Matching sti with afline hubs.

Found out it needs a specialist aftermarket "versa" right handside sti lever that is matched to either 8 or 11 speed nexus /afline. about £100-£150 pound, so no more than shimano really.

Do you miss the rear rollers? I always found rolling it while folded a big plus.

Ha. I started a new thread on this!
Yes, idealy I need to get this facility back. I have a mezzo with a full rolling rack and a brommie with out!!!
I find it a tad unstable half folded, espicaly with thelonger bars

Thinking of two solutions.
1 convert to single speed hub and wheel on the front wheel and the easy wheels.
2 space out the fork clip so the fold is aboutan inch wider so the front spokes clear the ihg toggle chain when iwheel it in the above method..
