Clicking Pedal

Clicking Pedal
I’m quite new to this folding and commuting lark. Loving both. I’m doing around 14 miles most days. However, my Dahon MU P8 of only a few months old is worrying me. The left pedal is clicking intermittently and there is a definite vibration when it does. I can’t feel any obvious play or looseness. It’s a stomp folding pedal. What might be wrong and what should I be looking at to fix it?

Pedal bearings shot, or loose crank/pedal.
See here.
Fix? Replace it/them, check crank and bottom bracket play while you got the spanners out.
Tern are having occasional problems with Stomp pedals. They're made by usually acclaimed 'Wellgo'. There's an entire thread devoted to folding pedals here.
The usual answer is either to buy no-name $5 replacements from Ebay every six months, or splash out on expensive alloys which may or may not last longer.

When my bike was new I heard an irritating clicking (inconsistently) while on a ride. The friend I was riding with - a cycling veteran - was trying to help me figure out what it was: Bottom bracket? Slack from the chain? As I said above, all it turned out to be was a need to tighten the pedal. Just remember that to tighten the left pedal you must turn counter-clockwise, which is counter intuitive. Don't be afraid to give the wrench a light tap to ensure that the pedal is sufficiently tightened.
By the way, when the pedal clicked I would also feel the slightest bit of resistance and slippage from that pedal and that pedal alone, which sounds like your situation.

What I intended to say was "counter-clockwise, which is counter intuitive" - otherwise it wouldn't be "counter intuitive".
Thanks for catching me, Roger. I'll go back and correct the above post.

Thanks for all the advice
I have been following all these replies, but couldn't log in! I have had to leave the bike at home for the last few days - I feel lost.
I am now sure my problem is the left side pedal. Its loose on the spindle, the right pedal is much tighter. I would have been telling you that tightening it didn't help, if only I had known to go counter clock-wise. So when I get tonight, if the pedal really won't tighten, I'll get new ones. A spare set probably won't go amiss actually.
Again, thanks - I appreciate the advice and support.
