Ran across one of these today: a Citizen Searcher, built custom for Google (no fold). I thought they'd all been retired, but this one was sitting among the newer bikes right in the center of the Google campus.

that pad and the big main triangle would come in handy.. shouldering the bike ..

if your apartment is several flights of stairs above street level..

and a small wheel bike takes up less room in a small expensive apartment ,

such as In Singapore . Or NYC, (or SFO)

But a folding bike of similar dimensions would take up even less space.

If only they had a sub-forum here dedicated to such bikes...

but the hinges add weight, and least number of grams is how you rate how good a bike is.

Is it? I have a 22lb. Folder and a 27.5lb. Mini velo and I think the heavier one is better..........although manufacturers seem to think a few grams difference should mean hundreds of dollars.

Now added frame rigidity, no added articulation to fail or cause play, a well supported steerer/stem, and fewer geometry compromises make a mini velo an attractive option in my opinion as a compact bike if you don't need an ultra compact fold. I love my folder too I just cant let loose on it the way I can on my mini velo.

I guess you're right, im too tired to detect sarcasm I never can tell when guys are serious or not with that weight weenie crap.

Those are masive rotors on those tiny wheels, what are those 200mm? I get crazy braking with my 160s on my bike, that seems out of hand. They do look cool as does the bike.

It seems to be geared low enough to climb modest hills without standing on the pedals. It has a rear shock suspension with adjustable spring loading, and it can roll on tiny wheels like luggage rollers, similar to the Brompton. You can even use it as a stool when folded.

a lot of work to avoid using a straight seatpost .. wonder what they were thinking , or drinking? :beer:

Remember that Jet fuel is only refined Kerosene/Kerosine and as such isn't very flammable, I mean you use it in lamps!

I like this one a lot .... ultra low gears ( 38 t/ 21 t) with a Sram freewheel Automatix hub. This bike will be great to pull a trailer full of stuff to the boat in far away anchorages. Or climb the hills on Caribik islands to get that view from the top. 36 spokes in the back, a pump in the seatpost, full metal folding pedals, Andros Stem for upright riding , or downhill speeding ... rides great and folds small ... :-)

Now I need the time and money to load the boat and the bike up and go sailing where it is warm and the water blue ...

That's awesome! I didn't think you could stuff Big Ben tires onto the Dahon frames unless they were built specifically for those tires.
