Advice On A Dahon Helios SL
Hello,
This might sound ridiculous to most of you but I'm new to folding bikes and need some advice before purchasing.
I'm looking for a commuter bike and a friend referred me to a friend who is has offered to sell his Dahon Helios SL.
The bike is around 5 years old.
Pictures show scratches here and there. Definitely's been used. Not pristine but decent condition.
Needs new grips, basic inners, and tyres and I'm guessing a full service before I know what else it would need.
Another issue is that I wouldn't be able to test it out.
He's offering as is for £100 or around £150 for a service to get it back on the road.
Is that a reasonable price? Is there more that I should be asking?
He's also based in Reading while I'm in London so it would be a pretty lengthy drive to pick it up.
Any information would be awesome.
Thanks.

Are you sure it is an SL model over a regular Helios?
The Helios SL was a very expensive bike when new so you would be getting a great deal.
The SL has a light wheelset with 14/16 spokes, the regular Helios had more spokes.
Just look them up on the web and you will see the differences in spec.
We would need to see pics of the bike to know what you're really getting.

Why can't I find deals like this!? It's definitely worth the 1 hour drive at that price!
