Add on motor for Brompton on Kickstarter
Kickstarter has a campaign for an after market motor that can fit a Brompton

Same here, but there might be times when it's useful. Not sure I would want to carry that extra weight though it's nice to have the option.

reminds me of VeloSolex powered bikes .. a friction drum turns the front tire ..
not sure how the front bag mounting block will hold up with that stress,
maybe the guy can get a metal block substitute made too, to replace the plastic Brompton one.

Also the two bolts holding the mounting block on. I'm sure they weren't designed for the stresses of using an electric motor.

true .. though a heat treated tempered steel bolt can be found..
I got some marked 8.8 when I fitted the rear rack on my loaded touring bike ..
were still 5x.8mm , with an 8mm hex head (dont know if someone makes allen cap-screws in that alloy.
Brompton's own front wheel motor project seems back-burnered ,
perhaps they cannot find a ROC/PRC supplier that offers the reliable QC of their production
at a price the company wants to pay .
