Old Raleigh folder ID?

For sale local to me. All the seller says is that it's an old Raleigh folder. (Same as Twenty?) IGH needs work. How difficult is it to service these hubs? Would it require a new hub? Is there a spacing issue with modern hubs? Is $100 a good price for this?

Thanks much!

Sturmey Archer hobs are very resilient and reliable, probably needs stripping, cleaning and re-lubing. It might just need setting up and new cables.

Or just Lacks Oil and then it will smooth itself out .. they are pretty simple and robust.

The removal of the shift chain sccessesthe inside of thje Hub add a teaspoon worth of oil (90 weight gearbox oil if you have some )

Hard to tell from that angle, but it looks like a full-sized Raleigh 20. Just not the orig seat, though. Looks like good shape, easily worth $100. Wife was given one a couple of yrs ago by our next door neighbor out at the beach he'd also gotten it for free. Same Ivory color as one you posted - rarest color (and nicest color) from what I have seen. Based upon color and decals it looks like a 1973, just like the wife's bike. There should be a mfg date (yr and month) on the Sturmey Archer hub.

Easy enough to take apart and re-assemble, if you follow picture sequences you can find online. I did it. Adjustment of cable tension and re-assembling the palls correctly are the key to all three gears working.

Also, please note, the stem riser and seat post are pushed way down on your bike, giving it its child-like appearance.

I've added before and after pics of ours.

Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG

Raleigh Twenty... I have several. It looks like about a 1973 model. Certainly worth $100 (to me anyway). For upgrades, as well as any other help, visit the guys over at Twenty Webs. The rear hub is probably one of the most durable ever built, fairly easy to service once you learn it's idiosyncrasies. I have one on a full sized bike with well over 35,000 miles on it.
