Texan that must have FOOTBALL

I donít know if I can survive this Fall without football. Any level of football from HS to Pro and especially college football. I watched a MLB game the Atlanta Braves at NY Mets and with no crowd it just wasnít baseball. I miss the Tour De France and missing out on the Little League World Series is going to make me very sad . I hope I can watch the Texas Longhorns underachieve go 7-5 then beat somebody they are not suppose to in a bowl game. Football is religion and a drug so I canít go without football.

Then, Hondo, you will have the associated sickness and death that comes with Covid.... Unfortunately, for now, there is no separation.

I caught some of a Yankees game the other night. An empty stadium, but some electronics sound tech had a full library of sounds of a full stadium.

The constant din of the canned fans in the background was just like an evening playoff game in the fall. Anytime a play was made, whistling, cheering, and applause commenced. Electronically.

Pretty damn hilarious considering the pro soccer game I was browsing past on a Spanish TV channel had an empty stadium and no canned fans. Just the announcer and play-by-play person.

According to the Associated Press, MLB is taking sounds from its official video game, “MLB The Show.”

Yup. they had faint fake crowd noise with cutout cardboard fans. Now to see how the NBA will go. I will take up hiking and listen to birds chirping which actually may be the way to go right now.

My idea was to give the regular crowd like season ticket holders a half a second earlier broadcast and then they can react to the match with different preprogrammed sounds like ooh and aah, through a game controller or keyboard. The tv-station has all those (personalized) crowd sounds in store and automatically mixes them in with the 'live' coverage of the match. So basically canned cheers but interactive on a mass scale. It wouldn't be the same but at least the crowd reaction would be real crowd reaction.

It could also be through an open mic connection but that would claim a lot of bandwidth. To further enhance it, the fan operating the controller should hear the sounds produced by a few fellow fans 'around' him, maybe even as they were seated before corona. Wouldn't that be much better?

I totally spaced. They rolled up the Champs d'Elysee yesterday. Who won?

Weird summer. I'm not the football fan you are but still - I went to one of the great (northern) football schools and lived 5 years not far them the Oakland Raiders when Jim Plunkett took them all the way, then 12 years in Seattle with the franchise with great owners. Still a fan of the Seahawks and love that I hear(d?) them on radio every Sunday.

Better get used to the idea....Playing contact sports these days is sheer idiocy; and the fools who are pushing through with it are morons.

Michigan State's entire squad is under quarantine after staff and players tested positive during training. Expect the same song with not even a different tune everywhere. It is utterly predictable. Same has happened with local baseball teams here.

Texas is kind of like my Irish and the Wolverines . Just can't seem to go over that hump to make them elite again.

Well, they better not cancel the puppy bowl or there will be riots.

I think pro sports are really missing out on an opportunity. They could attach a whole bunch of camera/speakers on the cardboard cutouts and fans could pay to have access. It would be just like being there and fans could shout stuff over the speaker. Genius!

MLB already canceling games due to covid outbreaks. After two or three games. Football contact jeez just don’t even start a season it will be a waste of time. One maybe two games then outbreaks. I’m getting my hiking gear ready to isolate on the trail. Nasty locker rooms like a covid breeding ground. I’m dropping out of society more than I already have.

Hondo,
The IU football team has had four cases this week, I seriously doubt they will have a season. IU golf which I was a part of, will likely not have any matches this year. Covid has taken over sports these days. Smiles, MH

X games sports may thrive during these times. Easy to do the right things and still compete. Desert truck racing which I love to watch and stuff like that.

^^^^ the TUDOR game is best played by the light of a Lava lamp with a hookah nearby and most of the players just go in circles but my CADACO ELLIS FOTO ELECTRIC FOOTBALL game is for the real diehards mine has needed a bulb since 1973
