People are weird.

Share stories about weird things people do when you are with/on your bike.

Whenever my friend wears his Ozzy shirt someone always honks the horn at him. Also in the grocery stores old men always tell us to go down some aisle because there are some sweet jumps there. Then today some dbag squirted me with a watergun. Me=bbq?

I'm currently working with Topeak to integrate portable bicycle tools with retaliatory weapons. Soon you will be able to seek justice vigilante style with your mini pump.

I can't really say it's weird because it happens all the time.

Ever since I started commuting the 6 miles into work on the shoulder of a 2-lane 65MPH highway, I've noticed that people often cross the double yellow center line, in violation of the law as well as common sense, in order to give me room. The shoulder is at least 4' wide the entire way, and it's a climb, so it's not like I'm wavering all over the place.

I can't help but think to myself that one of these days they'll see an oncoming car, swing back wildly and take me out. Even 18-wheelers miss me by a safe margin if they just hug the center line, but these asshats drive halfway into oncoming traffic, even in blind corners, as if that's somehow "safer". Weirdos.

The new multi-tool:

Seven hex wrenches
Two Torx wrenches
Two screwdrivers
A harpoon gun
A chain tool
A spoke wrench

I get yelled at every night I run. Usually nothing more than "Woo!" or "YEEEAAAH!" or something of equal creativity, but I run mostly at night (1-4am-ish), so I can't expect much anyway.

Often I can't even tell if it's heckling or encouragement. Admittedly though, there's a discouragingly low number of cute girls yelling at me as I jog at 4am. I guess I should troll elsewhere.

How can you tell if they're cute or not in the dark?

Riding to the store earlier today with a passenger on the Xtracycle/Instigator. We'd literally rounded the first corner from my house and a guy with an east European accent shouted to my passenger, "Don't pull down his pants!"

last week, I was standing at an intersection wiating for it to clear, when I suddenly got ninja-bear-hugged by some drunk old lady. It was pretty amusing.

This kid on the mup once thought he was all cool and tossed a coke bottle across the path, just before I passed him. I just gave him the "look" and kept on my merry way.

I was running a 5K along Boston's charles river yesterday and these two dudes were yelling "I dont get it, it takes a long ass time to get anywhere, hurts like hell, its bad for your knees.. I dont know why there idiots do it" . Thanks for the encouragement *******.

Ha! Not true--we've seen the photo in Hot Men of Foo .

I don't think I've ever had anything really weird happen to me. I lead a sheltered life.

Siu, your rear end is the epitome of 'excellence in cycling butt'. Dudes obviously do not know what is truly great in this world...

I know what's great in this world, and one of those things is Siu's butt!

I can't help but agree!

Well 95% of the time it's a dude's voice, so I jump to conclusions.
