I need to GTFoutta Boston

This town is killin me softly. Could just be the onset of fall and less activity but man the urge is building more so this year than the past few. San diego sounds nice. So does bc and boulder. I think I am going to try for once, in earnest.

Sorry Bout the rant.

You think you hate it here now, wait until about the 3rd week of January. I'll be right over to take all the sharp implements out of your apartment...pronto!

I hear you. I've lived here my whole life, and as such I'll always have some hometown affection, but I really need to get out. I've been here too long. It seems like there's always something to keep me here just a little longer though.

Yeah.. I have a whole bunch of friends here and it would be quite a big upheaval but on the other hand, now is the time to do it.

I used to feel the same way about Miami. Hot as hell, high crime, and almost no one speaks English. I kept saying "I've got to get out of here", and after too many years, I finally did.

Now I'm in Tokyo. Few people speak English, but there's no crime, and it's cooler than hell. So far I have no regrets.

Go on vacation somewhere north of the arctic circle for a week or so. When you get back, Boston won't seem so bad.

Really? With my aunt living in Boston, I would think that there would be more than enough excitement for everyone.

I know people whose familes have been in the same neighborhood for generations. I don't know if that's a peculiarly Boston thing, or if that happens in other cities as well. (Of course I wouldn't know, having never lived anywhere else )

yeah, a lot of people in boston seems to have deep roots. which is probably one of the reasons i never loved the place. always made me feel a bit like an outsider.

Left Boston went straight to San Diego. Dull town, great surf, great sailing.

Left San Diego went to Orange County. More of everything. Makes more sense if you've lived in Boston.

LA/OC > SD

I like fall. Its just that riding gets curtailed and ski season isnt gonna start till Jan. Leaves a lot of indoor exercise time .

Oh I have moved away from the city I grew up in and I lived in Boulder for 2 years and now Boston. Just that Boston sucks hard in some aspects comparison to some of the cities I mentioned. Its still a good town to be young and single.

Not sure if I like LA though. The reason SD would be cool would be the abundant tri-geek population.

How long have you been there? Is it expensive to live there? What do you do for a living? Sorry 'bout the questions but I (like most) have seriously been considering moving away.

Those states have pretty contrasting areas but you will definitely find something.
We wanted to come to Asheville but the job market was too bad. PA is my favorite
all around state of all the ones of spent time in. It has cities and awesome woodlands
and barren areas. If you move around Philly/Bucks County you can have great job,
be close to nature and NYC an hour away

She teaches grade skool math. But with her free time......well........let's just say Boston would not be the city it is without my Auntie's antics. Of course, I play a big role in the chaos that ensues whenever I visit.
