The return of quoted post notifications

Hi everyone. As I was talking about in prior discussions, quoted post notifications has returned. You can find them when you click the bell icon next to your username in the top right hand corner. It is a different product than the one that was removed, so if you experience any errors when using it, please let me know.

Bikes: 2022 Salsa Beargrease Carbon Deore 11, 2020 Salsa Warbird GRX 600, 2020 Canyon Ultimate CF SLX disc 9.0 Di2, 2020 Catrike Eola, 2016 Masi cxgr, 2011, Felt F3 Ltd, 2010 Trek 2.1, 2009 KHS Flite 220

A welcome return.

I would like to think that the uproar from users influenced this change from "sorry, it's not coming back any time soon."

It was always going to come back, I just didn't know when.

I noticed. BF told me that there was a quote of me. I clicked, but I couldn't find it. Aha, I see it brings me to User Control Panel which doesn't look like a control panel but rather the list of threads I'm subscribed to. Way down at the bottom is the list of quotes.

Thank you. I came here looking for a solution to that myself.

Yes... In your control panel. I think you can turn off the red bell and the email notification. And I couldn't resist quoting you so you would get the notification.

Thanks. It must be hidden in plain sight. I have all of the other notifications turned off, but can't seem to spot it.

Don't feel bad for not being able to find it. I found it last night and now can't find it again as if it moves itself around.

As was mentioned elsewhere in this thread, the quoted post is not easy to find, and when it is found the link doesn't' take you directly to the quoted post. The email notification will pretty much let you know though. While it is not optimal, I do appreciate what functionality it does have. Thank you.

It's not taking me to posts that quote me, just to threads where I've posted, and generally where nobody quoted me. It seems to be just "subscribed threads", unless I'm missing something.

You need to scroll way down the page to see what post you were quoted in. Even then, it will not take you to the quoted post, just the thread that contains the quote.

Well I'll be. Mine does too now. Perhaps there were some bug exterminations.

Think of all the quotes from your virtual friends you'll miss who just want to continue a conversation with you . . .

That was my question as well. It appears that you cannot.

But don't quote me on that.

I think the problem of the link not going to the post that quotes you is related to infinite scroll. It slows things down a lot sometimes, I feel like the link will eventually take you to the right post if you are patient enough. Same thing happens with likes

Huzzah.

Now can the "TypeError: Illegal offset type in ..../search.php on line 2099" error when clicking on the expanded search be fixed?

I'm not getting an error when I click on advanced search. Is this what you meant?

Yeah. I'm the only one? Weird.

AH HA! Seems to be a Firefox issue. I don't get the error on other browsers.
