Is the Quote Tool Broken?

Is it just me or has the quote notification system stopped working? When I get a notice for likes or quotes under the username toward the top right of the page, I am able to click on the “likes” and am redirected to the appropriate post. However, clicking on the quote notification just brings me to an old, long list of subscribed threads, not the quoted post. It seems like it’s been a couple weeks or more since it has worked properly. I hate the idea of someone quoting a post with an inquiry or follow up that gets ignored.

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere. Are the mods aware of this, or am I the only one? I realize this isn’t C&V content per se but this is where I hang out. Is there a work-around? I’ve been hoping someone would post about this issue but haven’t seen any mention about it.

Thanks for the reply and opportunity to show an example…

I see that I was quoted as shown here:

[End screen capture 1]

But when I click on the bold “Quotes… 1” it just brings me here:

As I understand it, a subscribed thread is simply a thread in which a user adds a post. I used to get directed to the post in which I was quoted, but that’s not happening now. If I’m away from the forum for a few days, it’s hard to tell where I was quoted without scrolling through threads I’ve posted in and then searching for places I’ve been quoted.

That's strange, the notification I received from your quote brought me here via the 'who quoted me' list in my user control panel.

The URL of the 'who quoted me' list is https://www.bikeforums.net/usercp.php

Strange indeed. That “who quoted me” link you provided still brings me to the Subscribed Threads list I posted above.

Thanks for your input nonetheless.

^ Makes sense, I don't have any subscribed threads so my quotes aren't buried at the bottom of a page. (I think you can turn off subscribing to threads automatically.)

Ahhh…I see it now. Thank you for that!

Although, I wish it was the old way, where I could click on the “quotes” notification and then get directed directly to posts where I was quoted. Now I just get a list of the 10 most recent times I’ve been quoted. What if there were more than 10 instances? I wonder if there is a way to see even older instances of being quoted.

I missed a few of these recent quotes:

I just have one subscribed thread, so most of that page is quotes. Keep thinking about turning quote notifications off, I know what I said. They were off before all the changes.

It has changed for sure. I've been seeing the same thing. Used to be if I clicked it I just got the quotes. Seeing the subscribed stuff just started happening a couple of weeks ago. Has to be something that was changed on the site as I've not adjusted any of my profile specific setting.
