In order to post a picture it must be on the web, someplace. If the picture is already on the web, all you need is its URL, but if it's only on your computer, you need to upload it to some site on the web, first. I use Photobucket for my pictures. It's free or cheap (depending on what level of use you intend to make) and easy to use. To post a picture, notice that as you type in your post, there's an icon above the edit box that's labeled "Insert Image" when you mouse over it. Click it, and you should get a dialog box asking for the URL of your image. Enter the URL, and click "OK". Here's a sample...

I think the OP was trying to "Attach Files" rather than post a link to a hosted image, which as you point out works correctly. It seems to me that despite the size/dimension/type being correct, neither the OP nor I could use the "Attach Files" (see additional options when posting…)

Ah, I'd never tried the "Attach" approach...never had noticed that it existed. But it doesn't work for me, either...all I get is a message saying the upload failed.

We're having a little server problem,. It should be addressed soon.

Use this link inside the tags instead of the current view. Photobucket uses a nice preformatted tag for forums, this is it above. I added spaces so the link would actually display so you could see the difference.

How do I post a photo? I transmitted some cell phone immages to my e-mail and I have them both on e-mail and 'saved to my computer', but I can't seem to post them here. I try to copy and right-click to save the image but when I try to paste the image I have copied to the forum I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?

when you posting, go to the icons just above the text box (where your type). Hover the mouse over the icons until you reach the one that says "insert images" http://www.bikeforums.net/images/editor/insertimage.gif . click on that and you can then browse your computer files for the image you want.
