lol. right. thanks brian.

I have to be extra nice to Utahns. And you're the 2nd local tandem owner I'm aware of on the forums.

I would like it if the search function were never fixed properly. The reason I say this is because there seems to be a class of users here who's sole function is to post snotty "use the search function!" type posts at n00b$, and that's just not right. A less than adequate search function, (which Bikeforums has always been plagued with,) would at least give the dear, tender younglings an excuse for why they did not find the two Wilford Brimley threads from 2003 that were already posted.

Rollfast 05-01-08 03:54 PM

I'll look again, but I'm getting email updates for thread that haven't been posted to in a while and would have been in a weekly update otherwise. Now, I thought perhaps it was resetting IE but I had many more that would've done that and besides that....

I hadn't even opened BF prior or at the time I got the email (At least I think so...would just opening the site reset cookies or would they be long gone and done for)?

The common thread to the uncommon threads seems to be 04-10-08, which is what the posting date common to all seems to be.

Should I refrain to wait for the eerie laughing of the late Vincent Price? WAIT! I have no speakers on this doohickey today!

Seriously...I've cleared my cache daily since the Clinton  administration... ;)

oddly enough, i just got about 15 emails about threads from 4-10 or 4-11-08. i'd already gotten my weekly annoying emails as well. i guess something got lost and found again.

Rollfast 05-01-08 04:09 PM

Now I *KNOW* something is silly...

The last email was for "database error * many" update :roflmao:

Maybe the server's union went on strike so we all got  RERUNS...

Well anyway, it's Sunday, need a sundae. Thanks.

Update from Internet Brands

Internet Brands is experiencing a system-wide outgoing email bottleneck. Our tech team is working hard to address the problem. But in the meantime, subscribed thread emails and activation emails will be slow and inconsistent. As an immediate fix for user activation, please contact IBcommunity1@internetbrands.com for manual activation.

Thank you for your patience and for your diligence in reporting issues. This has been very useful to our tech team to help locate the problem!

I've noticed that the titles of threads I've read are not being un-bolded. That usually is the precursor to the server choking.

Even after you manually refresh the page?

Yes, and the "New" tags next to your, and my last post in this thread are still there.

Allen 05-19-08 12:57 PM

And sometimes is is clearing the boldings and new tags. In the Framebuilder's forum the "Bamboo!!" thread is not clearing, the "Adding Rack Eyelets" is.

I'm not able to post in the Politics forum, but I can still post in at least some of the other forums. Has there been some change I don't know about?

Yup :) .

Send a PM or an e-mail to Tom Stormcrowe, donnamb, Brian, or lotek. The ability to post in P & R is restricted, although you can still view.

Didn't know where to put this but I'm sure it will get moved.
Upgraded my membership last Friday.
How long should it take for me to get my little star and have access to the classifieds?

Probably not too long. ;)

Ssssslllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww posting today - usually predicts a crash of sorts.

AEO 06-10-08 05:18 PM

I'm getting a problem with IE7 tabbed browsing and one of the advertisments on the side.
4/5 times when this ad is in another tab and I switch to that tab it crashes IE7.
It's always this ad that's on/off screen when IE7 crashes.

That count down to 0 is like adobe's way of saying "you have X seconds before we're going to crash your IE7"

obvious solutions would be A: membership or B: use firefox with flashblocker.
but I thought I might point out a broken ad. froze IE around 15 times on me today with this single ad.

Braz56 06-12-08 09:34 AM

Search has been down for me since last night.

Rollfast 06-14-08 01:38 PM

I have been trying to find a post to answer a poster's question and I did a search by poster (ME) and all that comes up for ANYTHING I clicked is Tempest--the grey bike grows up, obviously by me also. Is my computer as memory-challenged as me? :50::50::50:

Rollfast 06-15-08 11:07 PM

Brian, Do I really want to click on this link in the right side bar?

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com..._travel_sede_1

I'm not sure I want to meet somebody into BDSM.

Google really has problems. That was on the front page first item (before the Spadout girl even)...

Edit: well, gee, those were the most evil looking heeled boots I've ever seen...:twitchy::innocent:

They did that in their Groups often too. Oh well.

I turned off tabbed browsing altogether. Scrolling down the page with the scroll wheel would just open files every time I hit the wheel. I wish I could disable some of the shortcut strokes too.

Why can't I post??? I'm a newbie. I have tried four times to post in Classic & Vintage.

I'm not a moderator or admin, just another user, but parts of the site have been down for a few hours.
