Y....e.....p

Had a handful of database errors too.

KZBrian 08-19-08 02:42 PM

My problem in post 102 is resolved.

Viewed posts are not un-bolding, the "new" tags are not clearing from viewed threads.

This is usually indicative of an impending server crash.

He he, that's funn...who am I again?

Flatballer 08-29-08 05:50 PM

I don't know if this has been answered yet, but I don't really know how I would search for it...

Whenever I make a post, it works just fine, but doesn't take me back to the thread.

What happens is, I click post, then it loads a blank webpage and says Done in the bottom left. But it pretends to still be working on something. If I hit back and then refresh, the thread comes up with my new post in it.

It's FF3 on Windows XP. Not a big deal, but if other people are having the same problem it could be annoying them. Plus it could lead to a lot of double posts if people don't check like I do.

Thanks.

Yep, you can't post anything in all caps. Only the first letter is capitalized.

DnvrFox 08-31-08 04:44 AM

TEST. I GUESS YOU WERE WRONG. YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW THE SECRET, AND I'M NOT TELLING.:D

Allen 08-31-08 08:23 AM

That took you forever to do. One letter at a time. Ouch.

WRONG - WRONG - WRONG - just do a "reply with quote" and you will see that I did NOT do it that way. The reply with quote will show you exactly what I entered.

Hush, you!

I have a virus alert from my firewall program Trend Micro "OfficeScan" that is reporting:

Troj_Agent.anmo in my internet temporary files every time I access the 50+ forum. It may be attached to one of the threads being updated today 9/5/08 between 7am and 9am east coast time. Sorry, I am not being given more detailed info than that by the program interface.

Edit: Stopped on its own. No further notices.

When that sort of thing happens, the best thing to do is simply CLEAR your cache, make sure your AV program is fully updated and run a scan. I'm willing to think that it was coincidental to the forum and the program finally digested it.

If you are having what seem like false positives I would consult the program's maker and sort it out. Also of help would be if you can identify the files you downloaded via BF when the incidents occured. URLs not belonging to this site are files Bike Forums cannot be held liable for but they can be REMOVED by the moderators if deemed malicious. That having been said, members always need to make sure the links they provide are safe to the best of their knowledge as this site cannot control what may happen with any outside links.

If you haven't already done so, I advise you to scan and do these things to prevent any latent problems from reappearing at a future date. Since I don't yet see other complaints here yet I would think that either your computer dispatched it or the server folks zapped it butit's hard to tell without being more specific.

PS You CAN go into those temp files in IE by clicking TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS and choosing SETTINGS then SHOW FILES.

I think most of the BF related files show either internetbrands.com, bikeforums.net or googlesyndication.com. If you can trace it to an AD on the site you might want to either adjust your firewall or go ahead and block the ad. There are some ads that cause a problem for some browsers and you can block them.

In summary I feel it is vital that you learn more about your firewall and antivirus or antimalware programs and how to manually configure them. Ignorance is not bliss and Bliss is a town in Idaho.

Ever since you guys pushed google syndication page loading is crashing Firefox hard.

3.0.1 FF w/Adblock disabled or enabled, doesn't matter.

I'm getting a lot of 'safari can't open page' messages this morning on reply posts, even though the posts are going up.

I have one minor Pet-Peeve for this version of vBulletin this forum is using. When I open a thread I haven't seen before, and there are, say, 12 replies to the OP already - it skips down to the last, or so, post. This I find annoying. I want to start at the beginning, not the end.

What say ye all? I'm sure it's a quick-fix - if I'm not alone in my exasperation...

+1

ALso, it would be nice if, when the thread continued on the 2nd page, if there was some kind of overlap - maybe three posts from the previous page.
