Date format

Apologies if this has been covered already, but the search function is telling me that the words in "date format" are too common to search for!

In the UK we tend to use day-month-year not month-day-year and I'm finding it confusing trying to work out when posts were made. It's obvious once the day is beyond the 12th of the month but if I see 10-06-09, I have to stop and think whether it means 10th June (UK style) or October 6th (US style).

Is there an option somewhere that I can change to switch to D-M-Y rather than the M-D-Y I'm seeing now?

Thanks.

The only date format changes you can do is what day your week starts at, ie American Sunday through Saturday, or French start the week on Monday, or whatever fiscal week you want to set. The display format for the date, though, is fixed as it is.

Ok Tom - thanks. I'll just have to get used to it.
