Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Sorry you feel that way, and have a good life.

One of the perks of an upgraded membership is an ad-free environment*- you have an upgraded membership, the OP does not.

*If you do start seeing ads, it is most likely you've got some malware on your end (happened to me )

Google Chrome + Ad Block. Problem solved.

If the site is slow I'd guess you have either an slow, old computer, a fast computer infected with something or without the memory optimized or you're using a slow web browser. Firefox being the worst of the. In my experience but it's been a few years since I used it.

Once I switched to Chrome the difference was night and day.

Maybe he's on the net with a TRS80 and a 300 bps cradle Bell Laboratories 103 modulator/demodulator utilizing acoustic coupling from 1962? (I'm teasing, by the way....) Actually, we need the ads to pay for the bandwidth and infrastructure to provide these forums. The money has to come from somewhere, doesn't it?

I actually had a TRS80. I enjoyed learning BASIC and writing little programs. (fond memories) I don't care for ads myself, and that's why I pay for the premium membership. The vast amount of knowledge here at the BF is well worth the amount of the contribution.

Believe it or not, that thang may still be faster than my home internet connection. :scared: Now I have better luck with my cell phone, though it isn't exactly Speedy Gonzales either. Still, this site seems slower than other bandwidth intensive sites on both Chrome and Dolphin regardless of my tower or signal level.

The closest thing to an "issue" I had with the adverts is in the joke forum. I just wanted to point out the irony of two Chevys and a Hyundai on a bicycle discussion. I never looked at cars on the internet though.
