finding an admin/ getting a thread deleted???
How does one communicate with an admin around here? I don't know who they are, and can't find any place to contact them. I need a thread deleted ("planning something epic..." in the Southeast regional forum) (I misposted). I can't delete the thing myself, apparently (what's up with *that*??). I posted a request in the user assistance forum, but that got me nowhere...
Help??
Thanks,
Tom

There is a little black triangle in the lower left corner of each post. Click it and report the thread.
As for why you can't do it yourself, picture a topic with several interesting replies. Now, wouldn't you feel silly if the post you had replied to disappeared? People would think you were nuts.

1. As was pointed out already, simply report the post/thread in question and leave a brief note. One of the Staff should get around to it sooner or later.
2. As to who we are/how to identify us, there here is a link (found at the bottom of the User Assistance cluster of forums- Show Groups - Bike Forums. One blue star is a Mod, three star is an Admin, though the one star designation may change when the new Stewards thing rolls out.
3. You can delete your own thread by simply deleting the first post, but that can be viewed as poor taste by some participants in it. What you can't do is edit the thread title once you've created it- you'll need to request that.

Thanks!! Exactly what I needed to know!!
edit: HOW do I delete that first (and only) post? I see how to edit, to reply, to quote and multi-quote, but it doesn't give me the choice to delete it. Other posts of mine do, but this one does not.

Hit the edit button and you should see the following buttons pop up under the text field: save, go advanced, delete, cancel. These will show up on the row above the normal Reply buttons.

I don't think you can delete post #1 , or the thread. Only following posts: 2 and greater.

*Premium members in the Marketplace do it all of the time- instead of reporting when an item is sold, they simply remove the post themselves and that wipes out the thread as well.

Unless things have changed, the OP of a thread should (in theory*) be able to kill a thread by deleting their thread starter.

Post #1 does not get a "delete" button when you edit it.
I think marketplace posters just delete the contents of post # 1, not the thread ?

I might be wrong about marketplace. I don't spend much time there.

If all else fails, just report the first post in the thread you want to delete and the staff will get a tasking in the queue wit a link to your sold item and happily delete the thread for you. The post report tool is the black triangle on the LL of every post on the forums
