it's hard to tell from your pictures, but it appears that you are removing tubing when you clean up. The tubing at the shoreline looks like it has been worked over pretty well. Unless it's really stout tubing, you really don't want to do that.

This is what I saw as a crack. If it is a crack, it isn't through the tubing yet

What you circled is where I slipped and scratched the tubing. I think that is what everyone is referring to as a crack in the tubing.
