What are the standards for rack mount braze-ons, front and rear?
I found a really old Cannondale that I'd like to convert for rough road touring. Steel fork. Complete with Suntour "roller brakes".
It mounts the rear rack on the brake bridge (side bolts). But, there are lower, but not upper front rack mounts. So, while I'm at it, I was thinking about building a front over the top + low rider rack and mounts.
So, are there standards of where to mount the front lowrider mounts?
I suppose, also in general for the rear, although I'll use the existing brake bridge rack mounts on this bike, but the info would be useful for the next build.

Yes some rack companies have published their suggested drop out eyelet to mid blade (low rider) mounts. But do know that there's little standard between racks and many racks end up being not lever because of this. Like so many fitting issues when building having the parts in hand and mocking up the set up is the best way to make sure thing play nice. Like level racks, like rack top and brake clearances, like low rider support hoops (that go over the front, top of the wheel) that don't cross the QR ends without huge stand offs. Roller cam brakes might not play nice with a top platform rack that's tied into the crown, as another example.
Really your best way to have all go well is the time consuming effort of trial set ups. The take some photos and share your solutions for the next guy.
The rear rack mounts to the brake bridge? Sure it's not the sides of the stay(s). Andy

To follow up- Go to your LBS (or friends' bikes) and measure their bikes with low rider (mid fork blade) mounts. Don't be surprised if there are differing eyelets to blade boss dimensions. I can do this but for a little while. Andy

As Andy says, there are no standards, but there are a lot of bikes made with the following dimensions:
Lowrider bosses: 165mm from dropout eyelet to boss
Rando rack boss: 140mm from crown brake hole to boss
If you make your own racks, these will work perfectly

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.
The best way is to have the rack in hand before you attach the mounts to the frame. That way you can see exactly where they need to go, and if any bending of the rack struts is needed to get things properly aligned.
