Cable ferrules for divers helmet cable stops

Where in the world do I get cable ferrules for divers helmet rear cable stop? I can't find any and Campy housing it too small and too big with the Campy ferrule.

Neither of the helmets from Nova work.

Thanks.

Brandon

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

I assume you're referring to the old Cinelli #305 "diver's helmet" cable stop? These have an ID of 4mm, so something like this ought to work:

I actually had one of those and the housing fits like it should, the smaller portion that would go into the helmet, is actually too long and I destroyed it trying to shorten that part. Thanks for the link, though cause I'll be ordering some more.

Why does the length of the snout matter (if long enough to stabilize the ferule with in the cable stop)?

Jagwire of all things cables makes such a cable stop. Their part # is BOT115-6. I got mine from QBP in a 100 piece bottle. The OD of the part that goes into the diver's helmet is just under 4mm and the ID of the hole the cable goes into is 5mm. Send me your street address and I'll mail you a couple. Or if you prefer you can pick them up yourself when you come to take my framebuilding class .

From my very limited experience, what I noticed was that the smaller part was longer than what the depth of the divers helmet and I noticed a gap of sorts, which I'm not a fan of. That was the reason that I tried to shorten it, and destroyed it.

So I guess the next part of my question would be "did the shift cable and shifting functions work with the less then ideal (in your judgement) ferule?" IO think you might have been over thinking this. Andy

I suppose it did, but it just didn't look right to me. Something that is supposed to have a nice gradual bend to it, had a much greater angle on it than I felt it should have.
