Braze-on frame lock availability?

Hello,

I just found a very nice old Swedish bicycle with a lock which was brazed onto the seatstay and when in the locked position locked the rear wheel to the bike. I'm getting a custom built bicycle at the moment and I was wondering if anyone knew if these are still available to framebuilders? Preferably a high-quality one...

Thanks,
Richard

Can you post a picture? It sounds like a great idea.

I think what you are referring to is a 'frame lock'. Is this similar to what it looks like? If so, they can be bought after-market from a number of makers.

I don't want to appear sillier than I really am. How does it mount or what exactly does this model do? A picture is worth a thousand words.

Not the best picture, but it should give you an idea. All the extra metal is not needed.....
