frame lug question
I have an older steel frame thats lugged. its about 17 yrs old. anyway the guy i got it from trimmed the headtube down at the top and bottom maybe 1/4 inch each so the headset was lower. he raced on it for years after. i am building a single speed commuter trainer with it. should i have any worries about the strength etc. its is a high end race frame so it was made well.

no, not really as long as it was milled correctly and squarely. i had to do that to one of my old frames when i put a new headset on it and its stack height has taller than the old one so that the threads would engage on the steerer tube
