Looking for Rig/torch reccomendations

I am starting to build up my tool que with the goal of beginning to start framebuilding this year. I used to braze in around college (that was some time ago) so I am somewhat unfamiliar with current manufacturers equipment. Curious about recommendations on torch brand, tip sizes, new or used, typical prices for complete setups, online retailers that are recommended and tank size needs for a shop planning on being a steady business in the future. I don't want to over buy or under buy.
Thanks for the help,
A. Malys

I don't know about your part of the world, but in mine, there aren't many options in tank size, just get the largest, not terribly large. Some regulatory thing. Search on torches, they have been heavily discussed. You can get by with an 035 and 050 tip. There is a chart somewhere of all the corresponding sizes. I like the meco torch, but not the best option for pro use.

Another option on gases is propane. Good for bikes, and less dangerous, and less dirty. Ideal would be a propane system and a medical oxygen concentrator, or at least it sounds like the ideal... Typical is obviously A/O.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely doing the A/O setup. What about Harris vs Victor torches? Or should I not care?

there was a recent thread here on torches. You can also search the framebuilders mailing list for more

This question has literally been beaten to death with a wet herring and stomped flat by elephants.

Get a J-28 or a Smith AW1A. Or get a J100 and develop strong arms.

I see the posts got moved into one of the stickies
You might want to read the whole thread
