I want to start getting into framebuilding as a little hobby, so I figured something small is a good place to start.

So I found this old frame in the hallway of my apartment building about a month ago. It was by the trash and looked as though it was being thrown out, so I grabbed it and thought it would make a good project.

Upon inspection it appears to be a DBS Cromo-Lite frame. I haven't been able to find much information on it.

Anyway, it really needs work. The bottom tube looks like it has been hacked off, and there is, what appears to be fiberglass, around where the bottom tube meets the head tube. I know I have to remove the fiberglass and put a new bottom tube on. I am thinking of using either aluminum, titanium, or bamboo.

Now here are my questions:
1. How can I remove the fiberglass?
- I tried looking up how to do it, but all I got was how to remove fiberglass from skin.
2. What would be the best material to use for the bottom tube?

That's all I can think of for now.

That is an old Peugot, and it looks like the top tube is also toast. I'd suggest that is a bigger can of worms then is worth getting into.

Well the sticker tags say DBS Cromo-Lite, but it does have the Peugot symbol on there.

Anywho, why do you say the top tube is toast?

top tube is toast because there is a big bulge/dent in it from being bent

Don't waste you time or money on that thing. You could hack it up and use it to build a bamboo bike
