Right on! Looks like you had a good time. The bike looks real cool with the new wheels.

Way to go Sam! Is that Metric Century I see in your future, somewhere around September?

Way to go man! I love going on event rides like that. You even got a reward. A new T-shirt to show off. My first event ride of the year is still a month away. I'm jealous.

PWRD, I demand you explain to me what this ride is, and why I wasn't invited so as to get one of these free t-shirts.

And I'm assuming this was a 25km ride?

Metric in the United States of America!?!!!!11!one!

Great job on the ride. And wow... those rims are really visible.

15.5 miles of pure fun is what that looks like to me.

Those rims look pretty trick. Looks like you've got yet another new set of tires too. I know you have a set of IRC street and some Mich knobby tires but I didn't recognize these.

Swifferman, you coulda come, where are you located anyways? Are you from around Tennessee?

The tires are Specialized Nimbus Armadillos, the IRC Metros were getting flats too often. I also have some hutchinson Scorpion Golds but i haven't used them yet. The Michelins are great for the mud and places where I want some tread, but those nimbus tires rode well today. The course was rather hilly IMO. Not much flat ground at all, but overall I had a good time. I am thinking about getting more involved with rides, the only problem is I get dropped HARD on hills so sticking solo works out better for me.

Repeat the same hill over and over, eventually you'll feel it much easier and that also means faster. It works for me.

haha...I don't have to TN consists of hills and hills, there are no such things as flats. Anyways...I still get dropped hard, I cannot climb a hill like a 140lb roadie on a 15lb bike.

Phantom, thats the whole reason I don't drive still. Haven't found a need to justify the outrageous expense.

Of course you are not going to climb hills like 140 lbs rodie on a 15 lbs bike, at least not yet. But you will be climbing the hills faster tomorrow than today. It's a good feeling, seeing improvement, realising you can go faster than before. It takes time but rewarding. Be patient and take one step at a time.
