Looking for a flat bar road B. Sirrus carbon vs. Willier alu
Hello, finally I found availability of these models. I am basically looking for a flat bar with a sport edge. I use to have a Trex Fx , and I would like to buy something a bit more sporty. Main use would be long bike lanes in the city.
These are my main Choices: Sirrus elite carbon disc, Willer bassano. Another option could be Merida speeder 3000
-My concern about the Sirrus is the riding position, maybe too upright? since I would like something race oriented, what do you guys think?
-What are the benefits of a carbon frame over alu?

Level of 105 components are all you actually need, though the Sporty 'Fitness Bike' has A More expensive component
Pick Option from Campag or Shimano ..
In many Cities, I would not lock an expensive bike up on the street and leave it there too long.
Carbon or aluminum , Pay your money take your chances ,, dont crash on either ..

No personal experience as I only ride drop bar road bikes and mtbs, but the 7.7FX is essentially a CF Domane with flat bars. It has the exact same frame dimensions and geometry. The Domane is a fine endurance road bike.

' fitness' is a category of bikes , many brands may build something to sell to get a slice in that segment ..
The Hybrid Trek 7.7 is one that can fall into that category .. spec'd like a Road Bike w skinny tires .
but with straight bars and the associated controls for that Bar style.

I bought a Sirius Sport Disk 11 days ago and enjoy it. I'm commuting to work daily with it a little over eight miles. I like the color.

If your main use is long bike lanes in the city, do you need or want multiple gears? I got an Orbea Carpe 60 which is single speed and flat bars. It's light, comfortable, and is virtually maintenance and worry free.
