trek cross rip wheels
Hi
I have a 2015 Trek cross rip elite. I just put some 25 mm gatorskins and I really like them on the road. I would still prefer the 32 mm stock Bontragers for a lot of my riding which is on packed gravel trails.
So my question for you experts is. Would it be worth buying a second wheel set? The bike gets a lot of use and switching back and forth is not practical. I could just spend the money on a intro road bike but having one bike would be more practical for travel.

Nobody can really answer that for you. It's a question of how often you plan to swap tires, and what your financial situation is. If your last name is Trump, Gates, or Koch, buy another bike -- heck, buy another bike company!

I guess I should have said I'm asking for opinions not answers. Im not Trump by any means but If could not afford it I would not even be contemplating a purchase.
The tires will be changed often. So the options I'm considering would be (1) buy a replacement set of wheels about 400 bucks. (2) buy an upgraded set for the skinny tires at about 800 (3 )buy an introductory road bike for about 800.
All 3 have advantages and disadvantages. Im just looking for some other opinions to help me make a decision.

Upgraded road wheels are an attractive solution, and if you ever do decide to buy a road bike you will have an extra set. The one thing about your cyclocross bike is that it is going to be a bit undergeared for road use, you may well spin out from time to time on some downhills and perhaps in tailwinds. However a basic entry level road bike may not be as nice to ride as your current bike.
One of the things to consider. A dedicated road bike sounds nice but how does a 800 dollar road bike compare to my cross rip elite with a 800 dollar wheels. Thats was one of the points I was seeking opinions on.
