No gel for me. Your hair will get messed up anyway by the helmet (helmet hair) so why bother.

You should go to your LBS and purchase a cycling specific energy gel and use that in your hair. They work wonders, no more helmet hair.

I use gel daily, and often ride in the evenings. The only issue is that it can sting if it gets in your eyes. I tend to wear a buff under my helmet anyway, so that absorbs the offending sweat/gel mixture.

buy yourself a set of clippers.. put the #2 guide on it...end of problem. Short hair is cooler and you don't have to worry about how it looks when you take your helmet off...and you never have to comb it.

Helmet=Sucks for the hairdo, but a functioning brain is nice.
