Giant Cypress What are your thoughts
What are your thoughts on a Giant Cypress. The good, bad and the indifferent. I looked at one today brand new with a rear rack and a handlebar bag for just shy of $400. Hard tail /no front suspension did have some sort of shock on the seat post. Looked to have good all purpose tread on the tires. 700 tires can't remember the width 28 something like that. So any way what are your thoughts. Thanks

It's a Giant, so you can't go wrong. I actually rode one about 5 months ago and it was the most comfortable bikes I've ever ridden. Definitely a great bike, depending what your goals are. I would've have bought one, but I wanted a bike where I wasn't as much upright and could produce a bit more speed. I also wanted disc brakes, so I went with the Roam 2.
If you just want to get out and ride comfortable without concerning yourself about average speed, top speed, or keeping up with the roadies ...and don't care about disc brakes, it's a bike for you.

I've had one since around 2004 and still love it. You are not me, and Giant has made some radical changes in the set up from one year to the next. At that time, mine was maybe $650 on end of year pricing.

It is a comfort bike so it is good for commuting on the city, and run errands and also for leisure rides in town. If you want to ride long distances probably a different bike will be best. I have an older Giant Sedona and I like it.
